My poor tattered Madkatz RAT7 mouse has started to give up. The middle mouse button only clicks about 1/3 of the time. That’s not good since it’s useful in several apps that I use. It’s been a really good mouse for a really long time.
Given my current job search (sans actual job), I’m not going to spend much money but am going to roll the dice on this Chineesium thing with a name that rolls right off the tongue: PICTEK Gaming Mouse Wired, [2019 Upgraded]RGB Mouse Gaming with Fire & Sniper Button, 10 Programmable Buttons, 12000 DPI, Weight Tuning Set, Computer Mouse for Laptop, USB Mouse for Windows PC Gamer . Therefore, if you see me in public, be sure to quiz me on the full name of my mouse.

I’ve been through 3 of these in the last 2 years. At $12, I can’t find a better deal. When the middle button stops working (doesn’t matter how expensive the mouse, it’s ALWAYS the middle button that breaks), just order another.
(I don’t do gaming, just CAD)

I don’t want a mouse that looks like a Gundam, so I have this plus size BenQ one (left) that fits well in my bear paws.

I haven’t seen one of those RATs in a long time. So futuristic.
As a lefty, I can only use boring ambidextrous
/ symmetric mice, and frankly have no use for a crazy one. That sai
d, some of my coworkers have some logitech gaming mouse which they map macros to the random buttons to make repetitive tasks suck less, which I suppose is a good idea, but again I’m left handed (and often use the mouse with my right hand while holding the phone [talking] in the left)
so it isn’t worth futzing with.

That’s cool. Kind of looks like the redesigned intellimouse. For the price of two of those, you could have a
PICTEK Gaming Mouse Wired, [2019 Upgraded]RGB Mouse Gaming with Fire & Sniper Button, 10 Programmable Buttons, 12000 DPI, Weight Tuning Set, Computer Mouse for Laptop, USB Mouse for Windows PC Gamer
. So that means that I’m banking on the
PICTEK Gaming Mouse Wired, [2019 Upgraded]RGB Mouse Gaming with Fire & Sniper Button, 10 Programmable Buttons, 12000 DPI, Weight Tuning Set, Computer Mouse for Laptop, USB Mouse for Windows PC Gamer
lasting twice as long as yours.
I do a small amount of gaming (Overwatch and Apex Legends).

Man, now I want to start a left-handed gaming peripheral company. I shall call it: Lefitech. Xbox controllers with the control stick on the other side and everything.

Nothing wrong with that. The thing about the Gundam mouse is that it came with 3 interchangeable pinky rests, an adjustable palm rest (in and out), and the thumb rest pivots in an out. It’s supremely adjustable.

It’s like the cheap version of the Microsoft Designer mouse. Which I had for like 8 months, til the spindle on the scroll wheel snapped. 8 months seems like the max lifespan of Microsoft mouses, in my experience.

Then again, I don’t do any gaming at all.

The original Microsoft Intellimouse was a beast back in the day but quality really dropped off.

I’m G502 or bust on all the computers I use. 2 in use at home with another on my desk at work.

I had a wonderful travel mouse years and years ago, and it kills me that I can’t remember what it was because it had a great feature I’ve yet to find in another mouse. The middle click had a second detent, and if you clicked extra hard it’d "unlock" the scroll wheel so you could coast scroll without the wheel clicking. Another hard click would reset the wheel.

Since you might appreciate it, here’s my favorite keyboard of all time. It was actually better to look at than use, but damn was it nice to be wireless with a touch pad back in 2007.

My logitech Performance MX is giving up the ghost. The right click is getting glitchy. im thinking I might go MX vertical.

I’ve never had issue with controllers and the like, and play guitar right-handed (the left hand does the hard part). Computer mice would be nice though - something that’s a little more comfortable than a bar of soap but not crazy
gaming mouse.

Oh man, I can’t. Haha. Though if you want to troll people (like rocking up to a cars and coffee in a Prius and popping the hood), tell gamers you use a trackpad in DOTA.

I’m using right now but personally I prefer the G5 over it.

I have that in my logitech. You dont click the mouse wheel, but there’s a button next to the wheel to change the setting. I u se it all the time.

Recently got this, certainly more comfortable than a normal shaped mouse, although I wish it was a little longer,
and having a super key on it is pretty clutch. Although unlike other people here I don’t do anything that requires a good mouse, so I can’t vouch for it’s accuracy or whatnot
.

I got one of those my freshman year in college. My second optical mouse, but man they were revelations compared to using old ball mice.

Currently using a Logitech Performance Mouse MX:
Pretty nice I think. I could never go back to a wired mouse, for me any lag reduction with wired is small enough not to be worth it. I really don’t like the feel (or the look) of the MX 2's angular pattern, though I see Logitech has the MX 3 out now, with a different grip structure.

Do you actually use all those buttons? I use them in
AutoCAD.
I’ve got abo
ut 30 functions programmed in my Razor Naga, which has a twelve-button keypad on the thumb size. I’m pretty satisfied with my Nagas (one for work, one for home)
, although one of them developed a bad left
but
ton
after about five years of all-day use and I had to replace it
.

Yeah, I use forward/back on the thumb a lot as well as the precision aim in games. There are a few buttons that are for modifying DPI or temporarily bumping mouse speed. I use those a lot less. I don’t really use the left/right scroll wheel. There are less buttons to it than it looks like.

I stick to the Corsair M65
The construction is solid. I missed using it when I was at work so I brought it in and bought a new one for my home.

if it still works intermittently , you could attempt a disassembly and cleaning. Sounds like a sticky microswitch rather than a broken internal

I’ll probably do this when the new one arrives.

I know not everyone likes them but I do love my Apple Magic Mouse. I like having horizontal scrolling as well as vertical, and ability to have some gestures. And wheel scrolling just feels primitive to me now.

I’ve met other people with that opinion. Personally, I still think Apple has never made a good mouse. The Magic Mouse isn’t bad. It just lacks in feel. It’s kind of the automatic transmission of mice. Or the electric power steering of mice.

Also, here’s a real legend:

I definitely agree it doesn’t feel all that great in the hand but I do a lot of video and audio editing and it works great for that.

I’m a big fan of these as well. I usually have a slightly older one at work (currently a G500s) and run it until it starts to wear out, at which point I’ll buy a new one for home and cycle what I had there out to work.

I prefer the Logitech MX Master. I have been using this one now for a while and it’s almost time for an upgrade. Might try out the master 3

I’m actually using the newer version of that - bought it maybe six months ago. So far no issues with it, and it has worked just as well, if not better than the Razor Abyssys that it replaced.
